I have arrived much later than I have initially informed my host due to immigration delays. However, the host waited for me to come until very late and has helped the taxi driver in directing to the NA. The apartment has been exactly as shown in the photos and the host always helped in directing taxi drivers to the apartment as it was a bit difficult to find.
Our stay at Nomad’s apartment was fantastic. The apartment provided us with daily necessities, very clean and tidy. It is located just off the main road and therefore is away from the noisy traffic. The back garden is a lovely place just to sit and take in the picturesque views of the mountains. Local restaurants and shops are easily accessible and quite tasty! The host also had lots of knowledge of locals places to go 🙂 Would highly recommend Nomad’s apartment.
Sameer is the best Airbnb host hands down! Hospitable, patient, and always available, he possesses all the qualities you hope a host would have. He responded to my booking inquiry immediately and attended to every question I had. The most important thing Sameer did for us was inform us of beforehand of a fuel shortage in Nepal so we weren’t surprised by high transportation costs. We ended up being three hours late when we arrived and he waited up for us to welcome us to his property. The property itself is true to its word and the photos. There are six apartment spaces identically themed. When we arrived, there were issues with the initial property we booked so he upgraded us to a bigger accommodation, taking the initiative and responsibility in addressing the situation. The kitchen had everything you needed to make meals at home. If we were missing something, Sameer provided it. You can buy water, beer, soap, tea, and incense from Sameer. The rooms are very spacious. The main bedroom is bright and has comfortable, clean bedding. Lots of outlets too which was perfect for all my gadgets. There are a lot of shelving units. You really do feel like you’re at home when you stay here. The bathroom has unlimited hot water too! There are regional power outages all over Nepal so you must prepare for that but Sameer informed us of all the timeframes when electricity would be out. The location is not in the center of town but it’s only a 20-minute walk to Thamel and that’s pretty straight forward once you get your bearings. The area of Ranibari has next-to-no foreigners so you feel very immersed in Nepali daily life. On our first day, Sameer invited us to a local farmer’s market with some of his friends to introduce us to the real Kathmandu. We walked through back streets hearing stories from locals, which added to our understanding of the culture. He went above and beyond what is required of him as a host. On our last day with the fuel shortage still making transportation difficult, he called every taxi company around and then proceeded to walk us to the area where local buses run and waited with us until we found a more affordable option to take us to our next destination. He made sure we always felt safe and at ease. There wasn’t anything I didn’t feel comfortable asking of him because he was so generous with his time and knowledge. We were told the property is not 100% completed since he only began building it in January of 2015. It just opened to guests in August but to see how great it is now and how much more is going to be improved upon in the near future only makes me excited for Sameer. Sameer is a visionary and to help him achieve his dreams, I recommend every person visiting Kathmandu to stay at Nomad’s Apartments! You won’t regret it!
I was pleasantly surprised by how calm the area was. The apartment is in a really excellent location for anyone looking to have access to all Kathmandu has to offer without being overwhelmed. It was like a little oasis throughout my stay. I absolutely love that the apartment is color themed and that there was a kitchen! The host was incredibly friendly and showed me all around Kathmandu the way only a local can. He was incredibly helpful and knew a ton about the area. I will definitely stay here again.
He was such a great host! I loved the kindness while coming into Nepal. The room was very clean and the internet was fantastic. The room also had a small kitchen if you want to bring something home. Sameer when out of his way to make sure I was taken care of and knew my way around. The grounds were also very welcoming, roses and somewhere to put my feet in the grass after a long journey. I would not hesitate to stay here again when I return to Nepal. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Place with all facilities and the best location…
Exquisite furniture, cosy rooms, bright, colourful garden and a roof top with a view of the beautiful Ranibari makes Nomads’ Apartment, the best place to call it a Home. I have been staying here for months with no complaints, thanks to my ever-smiling and humble host who is making my stay one of the best experiences of my life.
